A Beautiful Escape TALL DARK ROAST: Art + Design. Article written by Samar Sadullah

Fine art is a wonderful thing. I remember the days of university graduate shows, my friends showing off their abilities to redefine obscurity and present it on a platter for all to see. Art can be defined in many ways, exploring the depth and meaning behind a piece is what draws me, and so many other art lovers, in.

I’ve been fascinated by artists, of most eras – especially those that made their mark during the Renaissance period – Bellini, Raphael and of course, not forgetting Michelangelo and da Vinci. The physical collection is however still vacant…

I remember my first trip to Tuscany, Italy when I was younger – and being very impressed by the art of local enthusiasts, similar to that of artists in Montmartre; Paris. Italy is a platform for beautiful art, breath taking surroundings, with a whimsical romanticism, inspiring and imaginative.

It was a couple of years ago I was drawn to the attention of Milan Artist and quintessential lover of nature; Mario Zampedroni. His ideas about form, shape, colour and light are extraordinary. He moves further to make a statement about the process and substance of his work – which intrigues the audience even more.

The most amazing part of Zampedroni’s work, is that he never copies anything from the ‘real.’ His work come straight from an abstract dimension, merging his love for all things natural – flowers, rivers, forests and fields. What Zampredroni describes as ‘A creative journey of discovery.’

The boldness and profound execution of colour, is a primary element in Zampedroni’s paintings – and it is used with such elegance and maturity. Striking reds, greens and yellows are especially evident in his acrylic masterpieces. His use of defining shape and lines is also apparent and indelibly engraved on the mind of anyone who has seen it. So carefully and delicately caricatured, it’s almost as if he knows what will engage and be pleasing to the senses – the principal interest of any art lover.

It would be incredible if Zampedroni’s Art was to be collaborated with the milestone of fashion. Pop art has already made an integral scene in it’s harmonious culmination with the world of ‘a la’ Mode.’ The emotion and stand Zampedroni has made with art would be commended and strongly communicated though the world of it’s neighbouring trend.

I am personally in love with his fusion of abstract and excellence in his floral paintings. So much spirit and warmth, I find myself following the trails of distinct lines and contours of the brush strokes on canvas. Truly breathtaking, igniting emotion as well as a sense of calm, his paintings embark on a classic journey – etymology of thought, formula with anticipation, sensitivity and completion.

His work appeals to a wide audience, as his approach to art and emotion within his pieces is magnificent. This i believe to be universal taste – the sheer movement of colour and purity of meaning, is enough for anyone to acquire a piece of this amazing, twenty first century raw talent.

THE ENDLESS APPEAL OF ABSTRACT FLORAL PAINTINGS

Remember a favorite bouquet; perhaps given by a loved one, perhaps received in recognition for some achievement, or maybe collected from a personal garden or favorite farmer’s market, the recollection of the mass of blooms and foliage is likely to enter into the mind in a series of dramatic and colorful visual elements that alternate between the bold and the delicate, the large and the small, the bright and the slowly fading. The memory of a bouquet may not draw out the precise edges of any given flower, nor afford the details of stamen and pistil, yet the full emotion and essential pleasure of the object remains, rewarding the senses with that timeless impression of beauty. Flowers have long been a favorite subject among painters, yet few pieces are able to truly capture this inner spirit, and among them, the abstract floral paintings of Mario Zampedroni stand out.
With a well-trained and appreciative eye for the appeal of the natural world, the artist translates the basic wonder of the bouquet to the observer through a process that’s visible within the pieces themselves, allowing the viewer to feel the impact of brush upon canvas and to understand more clearly the parts of every petal and leaf that are absorbed and savored by the mind. From bouquets of wildly mixed blossoms that might not readily call to mind any particular breed of bloom to those that clearly take their inspiration from a given flower, Zampedroni’s abstract floral paintings convey a world of color and form that might not be consciously processed in the literal landscape, but which the mind knows and loves at first sight.
Abstract floral paintings present an instant attraction to viewers of every age and from all walks of life; full of emotion and able to tell a thousand stories, yet drawing upon the memory and perception of the common human experience, these pieces are capable of producing a never-ending stream of conversations and quiet thoughts, challenging the mind and the senses without being overbearing or relying on cliché or vulnerability. At once both soft and fierce, both bright and subdued, the abstract floral paintings of Mario Zampedroni are engaging in a way that endures long after a given piece is initially viewed and considered. Gracing the wall of a house or home office, complementing a hotel lobby, or placed anywhere within the view of the inquisitive and art-friendly, the abstract floral painting is a model of the value created when art serves to beautify and to beckon the viewer to reach deeper.
From the experience of dipping one’s nose into a full and freshly cut bouquet, taking in the sweet and eternally innocent scents of nature, to scenes imagined or remembered of wandering through wildflower-studded valleys, these works are markedly sensual and can add warmth and joy to any moment in which they’re viewed. From the modest to the bold, the complex to the simplistic, Zampedroni’s abstract floral paintings work with blossoms in a raw and marvelous form that contemplates man’s ancient impression of flowers and of the natural world itself. Each piece is a study not only in artistic perception, but in the perception of nature’s observers throughout the centuries and through to today.
Effortlessly attractive and full of life that reflects the beauty of nature as well as the human mind, Mario Zampedroni’s abstract floral paintings are highly collectible, though they remain powerful pieces on their own. Like a well-placed arrangement touched by a sense of both the alien and the basic, a canvas from this collection is sure to spark smiles, incite dialog, and brighten any space around it, all through the particular skill of the artist and his tools. With brush and with the stroke of inspiration, the painter has created a series of works that bring out the curiosity and enduring heart of flowers, while preserving their most basic mysteries.

Mario Zampedroni’s Abstract Acrylic Paintings

Within the world of contemporary art, there are scores of abstract artists and individual pieces that have helped to shape and define the modern directions of artistic thought and exploration. Playing with ideas about form, shape, color, and light, and moving still further to make statements about process and substance, contemporary abstract pieces often present viewers with a chance to not only take in the visual appeal of the painting, but to delve into important questions about the genre itself. The world of the abstract is sometimes bizarre, sometimes familiar, yet always interesting. Whether presenting the observer with a kind of illusion or creating a blunt experience that makes no gestures towards secondary meanings or ideas, abstract acrylic paintings are enjoyed by scores of art fans around the world and continue to gain appreciation from new patrons and seasoned veterans and curators. Mario Zampedroni’s abstract acrylic paintings have established a firm place for themselves within the modern culture of abstract works, and they are sure to gain further momentum and notoriety as the artist’s special talent and eye for excellent aesthetics is introduced to a greater number of observers.
Exhibiting a deep understanding of the capabilities and personalities of acrylic paint and canvas, Zampedroni graces each piece with interest and intrigue in ways that set him apart from many of his peers. One of Zampedroni’s most developed relationships is with the function and the execution of line, and there are numerous angles and linear spaces in which to get lost in the majority of his works. Whether it’s a single stroke that seems to carry out the long note of a musical instrument or a series of linear movements across the canvas that call to mind a series of steps or a dance through the streets, Zampedroni’s use of line is a wonder to behold and invites the observer to take part in the development and translation of the piece itself.
Color is also handled with maturity and grace in these often startling abstract acrylic paintings. From rich and deep reds that seem to hold entire worlds of complementary shades within their painted spaces to lively greens and yellows and throughout the vivid spectrum, Zampedroni displays a remarkable talent for quenching the thirst of the eyes and of the mind with well-chosen and beautifully executed color. Just as adept with more muted pieces, the artist portrays a creative world in which color is the principal majesty, always affording a special interest to shade and tone and carrying out each color with an enduring confidence. The result is at once refreshing and pleasing to the senses, and this ensures that every viewing of these abstract acrylic paintings is as exciting and interesting as the first.
Spirit becomes of special importance in abstract acrylic paintings, and in many cases becomes the subject itself, inviting the viewer to inject a piece with their own interpretation and meaning or to simply follow the possibilities presented by the painting. Zampedroni’s spirit is consistent throughout his abstract works, belying a true passion for his craft while also bringing out shocks of emotion and deep reserves of calm. Through journeying across a canvas with the spirit and energy of Zampedroni’s brush, viewers are likely to be treated to a sense of the experience of creating the work and of harboring the very inspiration that leads to such paintings.
Bestowing his works with a sense of power, of drama, of emotion, or of pure style, Mario Zampedroni brings the allure of abstract acrylic paintings to a wide audience with his precise set of skills and soaring talent for the genre. Placed within the home or office, hung in a small personal gallery, or tucked away somewhere private, these paintings are sure to bring pleasure and interest to any art enthusiast who has a taste for the exotic while also appreciating the essential nature of modern abstract art.

MARIO ZAMPEDRONI’S CONCEPTUAL PAINTING

You may be familiar with some of Mario Zampedroni’s work. A number of individuals appreciate his abstract floral paintings and abstract landscape paintings. If you are fond of the idea of abstract, but not quite able to appreciate the images that sometimes face you from the canvas of the more abstract artists you may want to look at his painting. But abstract is not his only style.

Mario Zampedroni has a category of paintings that are outside of those. In his online portfolio they are referred to as conceptual paintings. That term is not loose or generic in this usage. Some of these paintings lack nothing of a conceptual quality. Some among the group are of a caliber that easily illicit the most central concepts of visual art and painting.

Those that appreciate the use of color that is commonly found in paintings by Mario Zampedroni will not be disappointed by this category of paintings either. While there is a fine focus apparent in many of these paintings, the colors and even some stylistic features that have helped his other paintings to achieve popularity remain.

Sometimes while viewing other abstract paintings by Zampedroni or others individuals may find themselves thinking that perhaps something is missing from the potential of this class. Zampedroni’s conceptual pieces may offer a significant enough aspect to create an enriching experience. With abstraction comes the potential to explore concepts that are not always easily expressed in the objects that we experience each day in the objective world.

It may be that much of his early career involved working in furnishing design that has developed an abstract style that is so accessible to so many. It may be that he began attending art school prior to the age of thirteen that has sharpened his mind to the key concepts of art and painting. It may be that his finest conceptual work is yet to be created.

When you see these images you will likely know immediately who you want to share them with. There will likely be a genuine excitement for many when they experience them. To be selective is a trait made better only by a genuine support of all.

In viewing these specific pieces you may find that you develop a greater appreciation for other abstract and objective paintings. You may also find that you appreciate the other works of Zampedroni more as well.

ANOTHER ARTIST MADE WAITING

Mario Zampedroni seems to be another artist with an optimistic outlook on waiting. His story is one that seems to illustrate in objective clarity what the world does to itself via the treatment of its professionals. This example is one that is perhaps more glaring than many others. Mario Zampedroni was not yet a teenager when he began Castello Sforzesco’s High School of Art in Milan. The young boy was able to distinguish himself at the school, graduated in Graphics, and advertising. He went on to study architecture at the Polytechnic in Milan.

Perhaps it was the practicalities of existing in a world, or the uncertainty of an artist alone in the world, whichever Zampedroni began work in the furnishing industry as a designer and executive. He continued to paint throughout his career in the furnishing industry. His abstract paintings continued to gain favor and a firm group of appreciators developed. As that support grew so did the time that he spent committed to painting. Today though it is abstract painting alone that he works on.

It is difficult to imagine what his abstract paintings might have become by this time if that had been his career instead of furnishing design. Zampedroni is considered to have developed considerably during the time he worked at the other career. Some artists choose to measure their commitment to art. Some are able to utilize all of the time and opportunity that is afforded them to progress their art. Others may require brief reprieves from their efforts.

For most the measure is simply in the art that is created. For many people that art is pleasing and broadening in the case of the paintings by Zampedroni. His paintings are considered by some an easily navigated transition from the objective art that holds a number of art appreciators to the world of abstract art that many other art appreciators find appealing.

More than one-hundred of his paintings can be viewed in his online gallery. Perhaps it is his measured temperament that allows him to shape such works. He is quoted as saying even now “I don’t know what exactly art is”. Perhaps his complete focus on his art will help him to discover just that knowledge. With it there may be a transformation in his work that reveals as significant a change as the difference between the objective world and the abstract one that he creates now.

MARIO ZAMPEDRONI BRINGS MUSIC TO LIFE - ARTICLE BY AJCopywriting - USA

Music

Music

Italian painter Mario Zampedroni makes statements with color. Like most abstract painters, Zampedroni sees the world in a unique way and captures that vision so that others can share it with him. While today so much art is created simply to look pretty and to decorate rooms so they feel more like doctor’s offices or hotels, a well-crafted abstract painting should capture the eye, as well as the imagination.

Zampedroni’s “Music” is a perfect example. The pink hue of the painting strikes the viewer first. The color is relaxing yet fun much like a lovely piece of music and lacks the fiery, blood pressure raising qualities of its darker sister, red. But “Music” brings in other colors as well, including the multiple colors of the staff – those five lines where composers create their own works of art.

One of the most interesting parts of the piece, however, is the style of the black musical notes which seem more like ethereal stratus clouds hovering over the staff as if they have been set free from the bars. Perhaps this depicts the difference between the written music on the page and the music when it is being performed. After all, the music can then be lifted off the page and released into the world for others to experience and enjoy.

Of course, whether this was Zampedroni’s intention or purpose in the painting is something we can only speculate about. But that is part of the joy of abstract paintings. You can look into them and find your own meaning or you can enjoy discussing potential meanings with friends and visitors. Nothing starts up a more lively discussion than a piece of abstract art.

Now that doesn’t mean this particular piece isn’t also an eye-catching work of art. The colors in the painting would add life and interest to almost any room décor. But it does more than look pretty and that’s not something which can be said very often of home decorations.

But “Music” is just one example of the abstract paintings Zampedoni creates. His abstract floral paintings such as “Abstract Art 2007” offers the same mystery and imagination but with a darker color scheme. Although beautiful, the darkness of the painting might also call to mind those hidden reasons why someone receives some lovely roses from a significant other. Or it might remind us of the cyclic nature of the world.

Regardless of the abstract painting, the depth of the art comes from its ability to excite our aesthetics and our imaginations.

BIOGRAPHICAL ARTICLE ABOUT MARIO ZAMPEDRONI BY NICOLE HEADY - USA

Mario Zampedroni is an Italian contemporary expressionist painter that specializes in abstract landscape and floral. When you see his work, you can see that he is not painting what you can see physically. He creates his paintings by using his creative energies, and interpreting the physical into something emotional. He has his own dimension that he draws from and invites us into. We see in his painting what he feels while he is working on them. The colors, brush strokes, texture, and nature of the painting all come together on the canvas to stand for his essence, what drives him to keep painting. His formal training helps him to have a critical eye, yet still stay true to himself and paint the very things that he recreates in his mind. Looking at the brilliant usage of colors, and the fluidity of his paintings, one can clearly see that the world according to Mario Zampedroni is as interesting as it should be to us all. This is a man who knows how to live life. He does not consider himself an artist, he paints because that is what he likes to do, and that is what he is inspired to do. Everyday life causes him to be creative, and his paintings are a direct result of him drawing inspiration from all that is around him. His paintings seem to be alive because of that. The energy that is vibrating off the canvas gives you a clue as to what Mario is like. He is a man that is brimming with excitement and passion. His natural subjects are so ordinary, but he takes them to new levels. He molds rivers, flowers, forests, people, animals, and other things into breath taking visuals. The calming blues, yellows and purples join with blacks, reds, and grays to make something that is very pleasing to the eye, and calming to the soul. Growing up in Milan, Italy, it is easy to see how the beauty of the country influenced his paintings. When he was a teenager, he attended Castello Sforzesco’s High School of Art, and won many awards. He then moved on to Polytechnic in Milan, and studied architecture. After that he designed furnishings. His entire life was one of creation and precision, beauty and talent. His technique has grown significantly through the 60s, 70s, all the way to the 2000s. The elegance with which he portrays his subjects is even more apparent, and you can see the progression when you browse his portfolio. The rustic charm of his paintings, paired with the almost surreal images makes for one interesting time. The way he sculpts people, not giving them faces, just having the frame of them and minor detail is so thought provoking. It makes you wonder how he views people, what he sees when he looks at us. The very core of who we are, what we look like, is blurred. That shows us that what we as people see as being important, how we look and how others look is not what should be focused on. It should be the other things that make us all unique, the things that are natural to us. When you look at his conceptual paintings, you can get lost in them for a while. You try to see what is hidden, what he is trying to tell us, show us. For example his painting “Hot Summer” can mean something different to any number of people. It could be a desert or a beach at dusk, or a mountain view. That is what is so refreshing about his paintings. You never know what you are going to see. (Nicole Heady)
